Sport mirror remotes

I grabed a pair of sport mirrors off of a Mustang this weekend and there are these LONG remotes on them. I don't know crap about these so dont laugh at me. Can I just cut the wires off? I dont want remote's, they aren't worth puting a hole in the door. Do they make sport mirrors without remotes? I like the way that the mirror I have is just held on by 2 screws but I want sport mirrors. Do I have any alternative besides punching a hole?
