THE REASON I ASK THIS... is cuz i got a new job this past week and it pays very very very good. So i am really wanting to fix up the maverick really nice. you know, make it run good (and fast) but still be something i could cruise for more than 5miles and not have to refill the tank you know? i know i could probably get the mav into the 10's.. but would it be very driveable? probably not is my thinking. and then you have to add like rollcages and all kinds of stuff. so i was wanting 13's (so i could beat most people in any street race), but still be able to drive it nice. i dunno. are you sure on the EFI/BLOWER combo??? i thought the blower would greatly reduce the mileage. the same with the CARB/NITRO setup. i dunno.. just curious. this is stuff that i might start over the summer and work at it for a while. thanks guyz.
: Most 351W Mavericks with general engine mods can go into the 13s. They could be tuned to get probably 12-15 highway, but about 10 city. EFI would solve the MPG concern, and for 10k you'd be able to go the EFI route easily. My Maverick gets 15 city 19 highway, and though I haven't dragged it yet, I expect it to be in the low 14's for an investment of around 6k (remember, your investment skyrockets if you have to have the work done professionally). Most imports go 14's? I don't think so. Not without NOS or a turbo or something (I'm thinking of accords and civics, not sports car imports) -CP
