I think the contacts in the horn button are jut two metal strips that are bent to spring apart. You may have bent one (or both) too straight, so they are closer together than they should be. The only answer is to take it back apart. -CP

: Why is my horn honking on its own? Yesterday I took the foam part off and painted it. It didn't have any problems untill 3:00 am when the cops rang my doorbell to wake me up and tell me to turn it off. The horn is also extremely delicate now, barely let your finger rest on it and it will go off, but it will keep going for 5 seconds even if you take your finger off! Did I just put the rubber part on to tight? It is an early version wheel that goes strait across.
