Get some wire-heel-type attachements for an electric drill (the smaller the better) or a wire brush to remove the rust. Once the surface is clean use laquer thinner or brake cleaner to clean the surface. Spray or wipe it down, then blow it dry. Once you do that its ready for paint. -CP
: just bought a 5.0 out of a 95 stang, the block and heads are unpainted and are covered with surface rust. what's the best way to prepare the surfaces before painting them?
