Before doing anything, be sure to verify the problem. Leaking oil will eventually drip down to the bellhousing, but that does not necessarily mean a rear seal leak. Make absolutely sure before you go into that project. it could be coming down from the valve covers, intake manifold, or the rear oil pan seal. Take the inspection cover off and look at the flexplate/flywheel for traces of oil. This should tell you for sure if your suspicions are correct.
Replacing the seal is simple but it takes a lot of time and grunt work. Also, it is common for the crankshaft to have worn a groove so that a new seal will not solve the problem. You'll need a 'saver' kit that resleeves the crankshaft.
