I'm back once more. Anyway I ran my other stock 73 Maverick at the track
Friday night aguinst a stock 72 Maverick Grabber. I thought you may be
interested in the results. The 72 had a 250 inline 6 with a automatic
and 2.75 open gears. It ran a 18.941 (best) at 76.46 mph. My 73 with a 302
C4 and 2.75 open gears (with 195-70-14s at the moment) ran 16.007 at
85.92 mph. I plan on hitting high 15s next weekend. Mine is all stock
with 140,000 miles on the clock. About the only thing I've done to it
is rebuild the trans with a little looser converter, shift kit and adjustable
modulator. Oh and 2 inch pipes with some cheap muffler house mufflers on
it and a open element 14 inch air cleaner. I'm gonna weigh it in at the
truckstop next weekend to see exactly what the race weight is. It feels
good to be raceing again.
