...I swapped a power box into my '70 w/200six. The box is unboosted and IS heavy in parking lots. But no problem on the road. I imagine parking lots would be a real challenge w/ the 302;-)

: Manuals are 22:1, power is 16:1. The manual steering is really sloppy with the big ratio, I am thinking about changing to a Fairlane box that has a 19:1 ratio, it is a simple bolt in. All small & intermediate Ford boxes will interchange from the period, including Mustangs. The power steering boxes will interchange with the manual steering boxes, but the ratio may be too stiff for a daily driver. -CP

:
: : powersteering has a different ratio then the manual steering boxes. Power ones are usually a 20-1 due to ability to over steer a vehicle at higher speeds. Manual's are usually a 16 or 18-1 ratio for the need of effort when parking the car. As far as changing to a Stang manual? Haven't really checked. Junkyard cross reference books will tell you that info. Ford didn't make that many different boxes.

:
: : : Are there different ratio steering boxes available for power steering?
: : : I talked to some friends that said the Grabbers had a faster ratio???
