: was the I6 Maverick/Comets still didn't get that great gas milage. Mebbe if you live in an area with PERFECT air, barometric pressure, a PERFECT state of tune, run lean jets, NEVER hit the gas and cruise, yea, MAYBE. If you have actually checked the milage and its right, good for you, but the likelyhood of that kind of milage from a 25+ year old car with an old carb and a weak inline 6... its pretty slim...
: yea, he coulda said it nicer, but he doesn't mince words, thats for sure...
: do you do alot of 55mph cruising to work or something?
: : If you drive a car sensibly, mileages can increase. I drove my car easy as it was my only transportation, and worked nights. Didn't race it from a stops, changed gears before redlining, and kept it tuned up, ran 89 octane, proper tire pressure. I checked the mileage several times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. T.L. you have a vast wealth of knowledge, but you also have a "big" mouth, lets keep the board clean. What do you say? My little Nissan truck gets 30, am I full of it again?
22MPG all the time,25MPG on a road trip that's with a 200,don't know what the 302 gets, but will check in the next few weeks and let you know
