When I worked nights, I drove 55, on a 35 mile trip one way. I cam home and took my wife nearly the smae way in the mornings, and then in afternoon. So yeah lots of interstate driving, at 55. I put roughly 1000 miles every week on her for about 3 months when the mustang she had got rebuilt, first rings, then the transmission went out.
I know it sounds hard to believe, but I had plenty of miles to check it by. Figuring this was the norm, thats why I posted it. I know we have had several cars get better than what they are rated at. Had some get less than rated mileage, but because someone gets better than norm, doesn't mean they are full of anything.
My Grabber gets about 15-16 on the one tank I checked mileage on. My 67 camaro used to get 21 with a powerglide, granted it was babied to get that mileage. One thing I should say, the old mav was running an open exhaust (muffler rotted out, and sounded like a v8 with headers), had a freshly built carb on it, had 75,000 miles on it.
