The '77 Maverick is the heaviest of the Mavericks, and no other years have less horsepower, so in my opinion it is only worth around $1000 tops. Of course, if it is really low mileage it may have collector value, but for the strip you are better off with an eariler Maverick (about 500 lbs lighter). I don't think the 302 was very rare in 1977, most 76-77 Mavericks I've seen had the 302 option. I run 255/60R15's with no tubs, so I'm sure your could fit 275's, maybe even without minitubs with the right wheel. -CP
: there is a 77 maverick for sale in our local paper that says rare factory 302, at,ps,pb,ac, bucket seats, good condition, $1200 obo. what would be a realistic price if indeed it is in good condition, also what is the weight of a 77 2 dr. and could you stick a 275/60/15 tire if you put mini tubs in it. i'm looking at running in the stock tire class at the 1/4 dragstrip. any help would be appreciated. thanks
