The front spindles will bolt on, you have to change axles in the rear (no big deal). The brakes can be rebuilt, I think everything is still available in the aftermarket for these brakes.
I installed a Black Magic Flex-a-lite electric fan, and it drew a lot of current, but not more that my alt could handle. Any aftermarket fan will show how many amps, if you are going the junkyard route then it is a guessing game, you may have to juice up your alternator.
Wow, a junkyard with real mechanics. Cool. Good luck with your Mav. -CP
: I found 5 lug spindles from a 4-door Maverick. Can I take the spindles off the back axle? Do I have to trade axles? The brakes look shot somewhat on the back. Can I rebuild them? The front spindles will have disc brakes on them. Has anybody installed an electric fan setup? Did it draw alot current? The guys at the 'yard are actaully really good mechanics and offered to set me up with AOD. They have good prices so I think I'll leave it to them. I'm going for a 250-6 with an AOD for good mileage and maybe a 3.55 to 3.00 final gear(still thinking about it). 242 duration cam with variable lifters(-20 degrees) for good passenger car performance.
