I don't like inlines for anything...street OR strip. All that torque is great for bustin' the tires loose but after 1600 RPM, you're pretty much out of usable power. That's why they were put into trucks, for lugging things around & climbing hills at low RPM. V-8s RULE when it comes to performance. 'Nuff said...


: On the street stop light to stop light a 300 will walk all over a 302.
: Inline engines put out 30% more torque than an eqivalent engine of the same displacement. On the street I like inlines, but as far as the drag strip goes, the 302 would win if they were both stock. Your right about 302's having more usable horsepower in a broader range.
