I am not familiar with the pedal height problem you are refering to, but I thought I would remind you that four wheel drum master cylinders use residual pressure valves to maintain a slight positive pressure for quicker apply.(overcomes return spring pressure) This residual pressure will cause your calipers to drag...Just food for thought.
I just bought a new Master cyl for my Maverick, a new (not reman) Raybestos unit, anyway I haven't installed it yet but it came with two rods of different lengths, maybe a solution to the pedal height problem? It is a 4-wheel drum Master cyl (using it for 4-wheel discs) -CP
