:front crossmember is strong enough, just remember to put your jack stands out along the frame and even with the crossmember> that will give you better stability. And don't use cylinder blocks. Wood blocks make a good set of jack stands.
I know when I used to change my oil in my '70 Maverick back in 1974, I used auto ramps to get under the car. Now I have a '76 and wanted to get under it and put jack stands under the car. Knowing that there are specific jacking pionts on the body of the car, I wanted to ask if you can lift the front end with a floor jack at the cross member located under the damper pulley without messing up the unibody.
