: you seem to spend more time, back talking my comments on here, your ASE doesn't give you the "GOD" like ability to solve everyone's situation, just because you think you're the only one that knows anything. Why don't you just keep your answers to the question and leave everyone else's comment alone. Or wasn't that on the ASE test. Remember mechanics are like doctors and everyone is different.
Can't help you much, but I know that the 69.5's and early 70's had smaller transmission tunnels than 71-up (widened for V8) -CP
: : Hi again. I was wondering if the 68 Mustang floor shifter is different than a Maverick floor shifter? And is it my imagination or is there just not enough room in the tranny tunnel of my 70?I have measured everything out but it sure seems to be a very tight fit , someone even mentioned a metal plate , I assume this goes between the floor and the shifter to allow enough clearance?I also am going to pull the valve body out so I can flip over the linkage so I want to make sure I get everything right so I don't have to do it again, do I use the Maverick shifter arm on the trans. (it is curved) or do I use a Mustang(68) (straight arm) because I am using the Mustang shifter, and is there a exclusive to Maverick shift rod because mine is a little tight? Thanks , sorry for all the questions but I want to get it right the first time. :)
