I have a '72 6 cyl to V-8 car that I converted to manual steering with a steering adapter from Mustangs plus. They go for about $120 in their catalog, I got mine from eBay for $85. All it is is a piece that threads on to the center link where the power steering valve was so you can remove all of the power steering related components. Also, I think it's nice because you can keep the 16 to 1 power assist gear box as a manual gear box, instead of replacing it with a 22 to 1 manual gear box. You don't even have to have it alligned after the swap, although I would suggest it to make sure your steering wheel is straight.
