: My tranny went out of my car a few weeks ago and someone offered me a C6

First, what kind of car are you going to put it in? If it is going into a Maverick, it is a real job to get it to fit in the chassis, like cutting, bashing and all that good stuff. No matter what car it goes in, if it had a c4 you must also change out the flex plate and torque converter and possibly the drive shaft. Check out what Rickyracer said and if it is a C6, grab it anyway because those small bell housing C6's are getting hard to find. A well built C4 is still a lot stronger than people think. Keep us posted.
