I assume your talking a 302 engine.
You could use high lift rocker arms to achive the higher lift as this change should not affect emmisions.
This change will increase the total open time (area under the lift curve)and allow more air into the cylinder without increasing cam duration and should be noticed at all engine speeds.
Piston/valve clearence must be looked into first. If engine has dished pistons this should not be problem.
If you still feel you want a special grind the consult one of the cam companies as there may be valve spring tension reguirements if the valves are going to be accelerated very quickly off and onto there seats.
