several things, but a plug in the secondaries power valve, start with a 2.5 power valve in the primaries.
Make sure you have a small opening in the secondary butterflies, about a paperclip dia.
Check and make sure you have all the baseplate ports capped or you'll have a vaccuum leak that will ruin your idle. After all that make sure your timing is where it should be and start playing with the idle screws.
: Ok I did a complete Barry Grant overhaul on my Holley 650. Man did she come to life Here is the car Maverick 73, original 302, 11 1/2:1 compression, 30 over, milled and ported heads, cam 294 with 554/558 lift, race rebuilt c4 and 4.56 rear end gears). The problem is she wont idle at all...use to hardly idle but it did before the rebuilt carb. The fuel is right at the bottom of the sight windows and I have the mixture screws backed out out 1 1/2 turns. Any help on tuning the carb to run better and to idle would help.
