That's why I asked if it was an H0 or NON-H0. The non-HO 302s, including truck and crown-vic motors, have the old 302/289 firing order. I know this for a fact having used a '90 crown vic engine in a Mustang and having to move ECM pins to correct fuel injector firing. Only the HO roller cams have the 351W firing order. -CP
Here is info on firing orders.
: In 1985 the order was changed on the 302 (5L) to that of the 351.
: So the 87 will be as follows 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 with number one still being the first cylinder on the left when you are looking at the front of the engine.
: For reference the 302, 84 back is as follows 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
: The camshaft lobe sequence is what controls the firing order in these engines as the 351 cams can be used in the 302 by just changing the plug wire sequence to match the cam.
