: : Is it possible to swap a 400 cubic inch V-8 into a Maverick? I know you can do it with a 351, and since a 400 is just a stroked over 351, I assume it should work. Anything I should know that's different?
: : And one more question, persay if I were to swap this 400 into a Mav that has a 302, is there anything on the rear-end I need to worry about?
: : Thanks in advance!
I think a stroker 351 would be a better route to go.

: Yes it is possible BUT the 400 is 1 inch wider than the small block 351 Windsor(26in vs. 25in) and it weighs 575lbs compared to 460 for the 302 and 525 for the Windsor. Shock towers are going to have to be modified, floor also to clear C6 trans. Front springs, headers etc. are another thing to consider. But as the old saying goes, anything can be made to fit with a blue wrench and LOTS OF MONEY! The 400's will perform well with mods, but for the ease and least exspense I'd go with the 351 Windsor. Just my opinion, if you want the 400 go for it and let us know how it progresses.
