I believe there was two posis in the 8", don't have my book with me, 3.00 & 3.55, A posi always uses a letter and not a number for the code. If it has a letter it's a posi. Some people will tell you to roll the wheels and that'll tell you. It might, the reason I say that is if the clutches are burned up, it might not. But you can rebuild it and make it a posi again. And they did make the 3.00 posi available for Mav early on. Plus Stang II and a few others. Biggest problem most people will tell you that a 8" is weak only because of the 28 spline axles. But they're the same axles that the 28 spline 9" use. Rarely does anyone break the ring/pinion gears. It's the axles that go away and the right axles will last forever.
: I remember someone posting the Doorjamb codes that tell if a mustang 2 has a 3.50 (posi?) in it. I cant find it in the archives does anyone know this? Also, did any other cars have this set up?
