if it's white smoke it's oil being burnt, probably valve seals or oil rings. Fuel smoke is usually black and sooty. Stings your eyes to be in it. Look closely at your "white smoke". Oil smoke lingers, steam from a water leak fades away. You can also smell the difference in the smoke too. Makes a big difference on where to start looking.


: i recently rebuilt my 250. New starter, evrything internally in the engine is brand new, new distributor. Anyways to the point, i have a ton of white smoke out the exhaust, it literally just pours out. Idle is fine, points are gapped, dwell is set, no mis-firing. I just dont know because i also have a brand new carb on it. I have been fighting this for like 2 months now and its really starting to get to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
