That Ford never promoted the Mustang as a 64.5, but many dealers called it that in dealer advertisements. The Maverick probably would have been the same way, except it was so dang catchy to say 'the first car of the 70s' -CP

: Now I have had many "bench" arguments about whether or not they promoted the Mustang as a 1964 1/2 or not. I have found just as many people who said they did as say they did not. The Mustang was introduced to the public at the 1964 World's Fair, and I believe it was promoted there as a 1964 1/2. Regardless, they are ALL 1965 models according to the VIN.

: anyways, I would be curious if you (or others) have soom insight on this.
