is the engine staying stock or are you upgrading it? 700 is more than you need, may cause for drivability problems. Most of us are running 600 cfm carbs...
I'm running a 600 Holley vacuum secondary, does ok. It is still suppose to be more than a stock 302 needs.
a buddy was running a 650 double pumper, went a little quicker in the quarter mile when he upgraded to a 750 dp, but he has a pretty high revving 289.
as far as intakes go, edelbrock's performer 289 does well for low rpm engines, its good up to 5500. The performer rpm does about the same but its good up to 6500.
it all depends on what you want the engine to do.
: Okay,... since i figured out how to get the conversion for my distributor (it was unanimous: POINTS SUCK) next question is... this: Holley 700carb or Edelbrock 700carb or some other brand of carb? okay so its more than one question. What kind of intake should i get to go along with the carb. And as for headers... what size/brand/style work good? 302 v8 with the stock 2bbl for now.. gotta upgrade though. Thanks guyz.
