T-5 or C-4

I am looking at buying a 5.0HO out of a late mustang, with the intention of converting to carb. The seller also has the T-5 that was mated to it. Is the T-5 the better way to go or should I keep the C-4 that is in the car with my 250 now.
Which of these is better and what are the cost differences between the two?
